Hello, Just to share a tingkat service I subscribe to. Subscribed for 2 months now and the food has been great! Plus I don't have to find the food, decide what to eat, saves me brain space for more important stuff. So it's worth it for me. Since the 2 pax portion is for me alone, I requested for alternate days delivery and they were very accommodative to my request. They will also cater to any changes on delivery days you need to make, just inform them about 2 days ahead. They don't have a fixed menu, they go to the market every morning and see what's on the market's menu. They deliver in transparent plastic containers 3 items: 1. Something soupy (Ikan Asam Pedas, Kari Ayam, Daging Masak Lemak etc.) 2. Something dry (Sayur Goreng, Ayam Goreng, Daging Bakar etc.) 3.

Just to share based on several hotel tries in Singapore. 1. Geylang is NOT a good place to stay for Muslims as that is the red light area. Its actually not a Malay area at all, it just happens to share the same name with the real Malay Geylang area which is Geylang Serai.  The Malay Geylang area is actually at Geylang Serai. Look for budget hotel near Joo Chiat Complex, Geylang Serai Market. The market is alive from morning till late afternoon. Plenty of halal stalls upstairs. If the stalls are closed, there are still plenty of halal restaurant in the area to choose from.  Nearest MRT is Paya Lebar (green line). 2. Little India is actually my favourite place to stay. Reason is because they have many 24 hours mamak (indian muslim) restaurants and the place is more alive than Geylang Serai. The best part is seeing Indian Muslim and Indian Hindu living so harmoniously together. On weekend nights you can see all the indian labour worker gather. It's like a big picnic.

2018 update from a blog reader: " There is now a halal restaurant. It's named The Villa Halal. It's on the 1st floor above international departures.  There is also a prayer place for Salah." If you're not at the airport yet, fill your stomach before you reach! Don Mueng Airport is not a halal friendly airport. As of 9th Feb 2016, there is only ONE halal place in the airport. Location: Departure hall, left side from entrance, under escalator. Food: kebab Seats: not many, so you'll have to pack and eat at the nearby Air Asia ticket purchase counter if its full. Plus the seats are not elderly friendly. I didnt notice any Muslim running the shop, but what choice do we have? Halal food at hotel: Fail The hotel has 4 halal item out of around 40 items on its buffet. The 4 halal items were briyani rice, chicken curry, and 2 other items to compliment the briyani. It failed my halal test because the halal section was only demarcated when I asked, and it was on the same table as the non-halal items. The hotel staff mentioned a separate kitchen but... the plates and utensils provided were the same! So basically they don't know what they're talking about when they say they got halal food. 2. Ease of finding halal food: Fail The nearest halal restaurant is a Silom Street and you have to take a texi there. Tips for Muslim travel in Bangkok: 1.
